Experience the best of the area: historic sites, breath-taking panoramas, and delicous wine!

You will visit Herculaneum together with a private guide for a 2 hour tour (tickets included). This site, incredibly well-preserved as it was covered by a deep layer of hot mud during the dramatic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D., will give you a glimpse of how life was during ancient times, while strolling aroud its millenia-old streets.

You will trek up Mt. Vesuvius (tickets included), the volcano resposible for the premature end of Herculaneum. The cone stands roughly 4200 feet high, but no matter how far you will venture up, you will be able to see the entire Gulf of Naples, from Sorrento to Capo Miseno, to Procida and Ischia.

You will stop at one of the vineyards located on the slopes of the volcano and taste several locally produced wines. The most famous wine produced here is the “Lacryma Christi”, but this tradition dates back to the Romans who used to call the wines produced here “Vesuvinum”.  The tasting will be followed by a light lunch that usually includes starters that can vary from bruschette, cured meats or vegetables, a main dish which usually includes a type of pasta with the local tomato sauce and either a dessert or a cheese tasting, depending on location and availability.
