Immerse yourself in ancient Roman history and indulge in local cuisine in this fantastic tour directly from the gangway of your cruise ship!

You will visit one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: Pompeii. Due to the dramatic eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D., this city was covered in ash and rocks, giving present-day visitors the chance to walk down ancient Roman streets and visit old houses, temples, shops, cafes, amphitheatres, and even a brothel.

You will stop in an old olive oil mill located in the Sorrento area. There, an expert will show you how this golden treasure is made: from the carefully selected raw materials to the entire production line to the final product. You will taste several types of locally produced oils served with freshly baked bread.

An expert pizza chef will teach you how to prepare a traditional pizza. Starting with learning to make the dough, then adding various toppings, to finally baking the pizza in the traditional wood oven, this is going to be a cooking class you will never forget! You will then have the pleasure of eating your own culinary masterpiece that will be served with drinks and a dessert, all included in the price.

What should I wear for this tour?

We suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes as there is quite a bit of walking involved on uneven surfaces.

Is this tour accessible for people with limited walking abilities?

The itinerary can certainly be customised according to your needs, but please note that some areas may not be accessible with a stroller/wheelchair or for people with limited walking abilities.

Your driver will be waiting for you outside of the cruise ship terminal (just outside the white building) holding a sign with your name written on it.

Where and how will I find the driver at Sorrento port?

Your driver will be waiting for you right where the cruise tender will drop you off, holding a sign with your name written on it.

Your driver will be waiting for you right where the cruise tender will drop you off, holding a sign with your name written on it.

What is your back to port policy?

We have a back to port policy of at least 1 hour prior to the last scheduled boarding time for the ship.

What type of vehicle will be used for our tour?

We provide services in luxury Mercedes and Volkswagen sedans, minivans or minibuses (depending on availability). For parties of 1-3 guests we normally use a sedan. For parties of 4-8 guests we use minivans. And for parties larger than 8 guests we either use multiple minivans or a minibus (depending upon availability).

We had a great private tour while our cruise ship was stopped in Naples. Luigi was our guide and he was fantastic. He spoke perfect English and was very informative. We did the olive oil tasting and then pizza making class. The pizza making class was in a small restaurant in a small town in the hills above Sorrento. It was fantastic. We then stopped for gellato outside of Sorrento. We ended the day with a couple hours to walk around Pompeii. Luigi always made sure we had time but kept us moving. It was a great day.
