Do you have a few hours to spare between your flight arrival in Rome and your embarkation time in Civitavecchia port? Or do you need a transfer to the port and want to include some sightseeing en route?

This is the perfect solution for those guests who wish to see a bit of Rome before embarking on their Mediterranean cruise.

Make the most of your pre-embarkation time with a modified Best of Rome tour. Your private driver will pick you up from FCO Rome Airport or from your centrally located accommodation in Rome. From there you will enjoy a mix of sightseeing from the vehicle and by foot.

You will have about 4 - 5 hours to see famous sites such as the Colosseum/Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill, St. Peter's Square and Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, People's Square, Navona Square, and more.

If you wish to enter the Colosseum or the Vatican Museums, we suggest that you select only one of these sites as this tour does not allot adequate time to enter both sites. Tickets are required for entrance. Please also be advised that entering one of these sites will reduce the amount of time available to see other sites, some of which may be omitted. The driver will advise accordingly the day of the tour itself.

After your time in Rome, you will continue on to Civitavecchia Port. Without traffic it will take about 1 hour 20 minutes to arrive to the port from Rome city centre.

Upon arrival at Civitavecchia port, your driver will accompany you directly to the gangway of the cruise ship.*

What should I wear for this tour?

We suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes as there is quite a bit of walking involved on uneven surfaces.

What happens if our cruise ship is unable to dock at the originally designated port?

If the cruise ship doesn't dock due to any circumstance out of your control, you will not be charged and we will try to re-schedule your service according to availability. If your cruise ship docks in a different port, for example Naples Port instead of Sorrento Port, we will change the pick up location, however there will be a fee associated with the change of port.

Is this tour accessible for people with limited walking abilities?

The itinerary can certainly be customised according to your needs, but please note that some areas may not be accessible with a stroller/wheelchair or for people with limited walking abilities.

What should I wear if I want to visit some religious sites?

If you intend to visit religious sites, please have knees and shoulders covered (both men and women).

What type of vehicle will be used for our tour?

We provide services in luxury Mercedes and Volkswagen sedans, minivans or minibuses (depending on availability). For parties of 1-3 guests we normally use a sedan. For parties of 4-8 guests we use minivans. And for parties larger than 8 guests we either use multiple minivans or a minibus (depending upon availability).

Is this tour suitable for people with limited walking abilities?

Due to the uneven surfaces in some areas, this service may not be suitable for stroller/wheelchair users or for people with limited walking abilities.
