We have cruised over a dozen times but have always used the ships tours to ensure we always got back to the ship on time or otherwise used the HOHO buses for a couple of hours. This time though from a very chatty Cruise Critic group we decided to join some Americans and Canadians, and us the only Brits on a tour with Joe Bananas Limos from Naples. The name of the company amused us but they had a good reputation and the tour was superb! A lovely young gentleman picked us up from the port in a spotless limo and off we set for Sorrento; we had been to this town a few times before but the beauty of the drive there never ceases to wow us. From there after an hour stop we drove on to Positano, and the beauty of the place overwhelmed us. We had another hour there to wander around and were then taken up into the hills to a rustic Italian trattoria where the wine flowed and the food kept coming, and after a Limoncello it was time for our onward journey past Amalfi and up into the hills again to Ravello. What a tour this turned out to be with stunning scenery on every corner. The group decided we should conclude our tour after this and we headed back to the ship in plenty of time before departure. The young gentleman gave us a wonderful day out with lots of information along the way and the cost for the eight of us was excellent value for money. Thank you Joe Bananas for a wonderful day out, and if we find ourselves in Italy again we will not hesitate to use you again.

We used the tour share service of Joe Banana Limos for our shore excursion. We were met at the pickup area by a very professional driver, who spoke English very well. Our ride for the day was a brand new luxury Volkswagen Van. The service is not an official guide but transportation to the various stops. We stopped in Sorrento, Positano and Ravello. The highlight was the lunch at La Tagliata set in the hillside above Positano! I would highly recommend this service as an alternative to the large bus tours offered by the cruise line.

I recently organized a group through Cruise Critic to join us on a tour of the Amalfi Coast with Joe Banana Limos. Planning this well in advance, all of us were a bit concerned about the quality of this tour. I'd heard quite a bit about Joe Banana and felt it was worth the risk. Once off the ship we were met by Paulo, our tour guide, who turned out to be one of the reasons that our tour turned out to be wonderful experience. Paulo exudes a genuine passion and excitement in his desire to make everyone's trip a memorable one. As I do a fair amount of serious amateur photography, Paulo made stops along the way or just slowed down to get a good photo. At one point he even stopped on a bridge and took my camera for a capture. Our tour took us up the Amalfi coast, into Positano, Sorrento and Ravello, and stopping for lunch at La Tagliata. La Tagliata turned out to be one of the highlights of our tour. A stunning restaurant perched on the side of the mountain with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and Mediterranean. Upon sitting down a bounty of home made Italian specialties were laid in front of us. Each selection was simply delicious and some of the best I've ever had. We wound up staying a bit longer than we should have. But considering the flowing wine and mama bringing out a large platter of desserts, who could leave. Our stay in Ravello was considerably shortened, which, while being a shame, was understandable given our culinary passions. Our trip back to the port took us a bit longer than expected, but Paulo knew our timing, accounted for the possibility of traffic and got us back with time to spare. It was hugs all around as we said goodbye to our new found friend. I can say with confidence that all 8 of us had an amazing day with Paulo and Joe Banana tours and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for a very special day in Italy.
