Day 1 | Arrival at Florence Airport. A driver will be meeting you outside the luggage claim, and will transfer you from Florence airport to your accommodation in Florence, where you will check in at your 4-5 star hotel for eight nights. Day 2 | Private tour of Florence with a professionally licensed, English speaking guide, entrance tickets to Accademia and Uffizi included. Admire the best masterpieces of Renaissance art, walking through ancient medieval streets, tasting some locally produced delicacies, shopping for leather handmade products, or simply breathing the magical atmosphere that only Florence can offer especially during Christmas time. |
day 3 | Full day between Siena and San Gimignano. You will visit Siena, a town full of history and art. It has a very strong local tradition tied to its seventeen “contrade” (small neighbourhoods), and the Palio di Siena. “Ricciarelli” traditional local biscuits, a type of macaroon, considered one of the signature sweets of Siena. Do not miss a visit to Piazza del Campo and maybe to one of the famous ”contrada”. You will have time to explore San Gimignano, a beautiful example of an Italian medieval town. In the Middle Ages, building a tower taller than their neighbour's was a popular way for prominent families to show their power. You will visit in a local vineyard and learn about the wine making process and taste several local wines, followed by a typical Mediterranean light lunch. |
day 4 | Spend the day between the beautiful Pienza, famous for the production of cheese, at your arrival you will be inebriated by the scent, which never leaves the area. Stop at Giardini di Val d’Orcia and the famous nativity scene in San Francesco’s Church, head to Montepulciano and visit the beautiful “Villaggio di Natale” ( Christmas Village) wherein the traditional wooden houses you will find the goodness of the food and local products, while shows for young and old will take place inside the Medieval Fortress. Last but not least, visit one of the historic wine cellars of the Tuscan countryside, one of the most renowned wine regions in Italy. You will have the chance to sip the wine varieties during the guided tasting, and bring the full flavor of the wines to life with a light gourmet Tuscan lunch. |
day 5 | Day in Bolgheri area is a pretty town is Southern Tuscany, perched on a hill overlooking the beautiful Etruscan Coast. It is famous around Christmas time for the variety of feast and country fairs that offers in the historic city center. Visit one of the local vineyard and learn about the wine making process and taste several local wines, followed by a typical Mediterranean light lunch. |
day 6 | Cinque Terre guided tour during which you will stop in Manarola visit one of the biggest Nativity scene of the world with over 17,000 lights that illuminates hills and sea. |
day 7 | A day enjoying Christmas markets. Pisa and the Christmas market around the tower of Pisa and the main square. Stop in Lucca to visit some more famous Christmas Market and enjoy the variety of street food. Visit Forte dei Marmi town market and feast. |
day 8 | Day in Florence at your leisure. You will find a covered ice rink, a maxi-screen for projecting images from inside the market and a Christmas market; nothing is missing, not even Santa’s House, complete with a post office for children’s letters. |
day 9 | Have your breakfast at the hotel, meet your driver. Private transfer from your hotel to the airport. Departure from Italy 😔 |
