You will visit Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, standing 3329 meters tall. The legend says the god of fire Hephaestus has its forges underneath it. Today it will offer you a mixed panorama, made of black lava lunar deserts and lush vineyards where the local DOC wine is produced.

You will have time in Taormina, a famous resort town perched on the side of the mountain, very close to the volcano. This town houses an ancient Greek ampitheater, the second largest theatre in Sicily, where several performances are still hosted today. It is also a very famous resort town, thanks to its mild climate and hospitality, with a long list of famous writers and intellectuals who have made Taormina their home since the 19th Century.
