Spend an amazing day which combines history with good wine!

You will visit the ruins of Herculaneum, an ancient Roman town destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. (tickets included). During your two hour private guided walking tour, you will see its incredibly well-preserved houses and temples, as well as thousands of millenia-old everyday objects, such as beds, fruits and even price lists still displayed outside of the shops. 

You will have time to hike up Mt. Vesuvius (tickets included), the volcano resposible for the premature end of Herculaneum. The cone stands roughly 4200 feet high, but however far you choose to venture up, you will be able to see the entire Gulf of Naples, from Sorrento to Capo Miseno, to Procida and Ischia.

You will stop in a local vineyard and taste several wines produced on the slopes of Vesuvius. You will taste 4 different wines, such as the famous Lacryma Christi, paired with a simple, yet, delicious light lunch. Light lunch will include some starters that can vary from bruschette, cured meats or vegetables, followed by a main dish which usually includes a type of pasta with the local tomato sauce and then either a dessert or a cheese tasting depending on location and availability.
