Day 1 | Arrival at Rome FCO or Naples Airport. A driver will meet you outside of the baggage claim area and will transfer you from the airport to a 4 or 5-star accommodation in Naples for a five night stay. Remainder of the day/evening at your leisure. |

day 3 | Day at Campi Flegrei (Phlegraean Fields), it’s a volcanic area that consists of more than twenty craters and volcanic edifices, straddling the sky and sea, where poets and academics of all ages have remained enchanted. You can enjoy a nice walk to Il Cratere degli Astroni Area rich in nature with endangered species, it has three hills and three ponds inside with weak sulphate activities from the bottom. It is born from one of the extinct volcanoes in the volcanic area of the Campi Flegrei, has an extension of 250 hectares and is managed by the WWF, or visit the Flavian amphitheater dates back to the first century AD, the third largest Roman amphitheater in Italy, the construction was attributed to the same architects of the Colosseum of Rome. Visible are the Arena, the cavea, which accommodated about 40,000 spectators, and the underground, from where some gears for staging started. day 4 | Enjoy a perfect day that combines history and food, away from the crowds. You will have time to visit Paestum, a Greek settlement founded in the 6th century BC in honor of the Sea God Poseidon. Today this World Heritage Site (recognized by Unesco since 1988) includes three of the world's best-preserved ancient Greek temples, as well as an engrossing museum filled with millennia-old frescoes, ceramics and daily artifacts. You will visit a buffalo mozzarella farm where you will learn the complete process of buffalo mozzarella making and taste freshly made products. The visit will be followed by a light lunch at the farm, that usually includes an appetizer, a pasta main dish and a dessert (included in the price). |
day 5 | You will stop in a small, family cheese factory where they will demonstrate how this delicious food is made, starting from raw milk to the final product. You will also have the opportunity for a hands-on cheese making experience and ultimately taste several freshly produced cheeses. A professional pizza chef will show you how a real pizza is prepared! You will make your own pizza, starting with the dough, then adding various toppings, and finally baking it in the traditional wood oven. After this unforgettable cooking class you will have the pleasure of eating your own masterpiece! Pizza will be served with drinks and a dessert. You will visit an old milll in the Sorrento area and see how the original olive oil is made. Raw material carefully selected and a strict control on the entire production chain ensure a product with an inimitable taste and with extraordinary organoleptic properties. You will have the chance to taste more than 30 different locally produced goods while learning everything about their making! |
day 6 | Check-out of Naples hotel. Your driver will transfer you from Naples to Tropea. Upon arrival, check in to your 4 or 5 star hotel, for a three night stay. Remainder of the day at your leisure. |
day 7 | Day in Tropea that sits atop a huge sandstone rock that drops away to the sea making it a stunning destination. Guided walking tour of Tropea narrow streets to discover stunning vistas of the sea beckoning to you, small sandstone palazzos, and medieval archways, that have withstood the earthquakes of the region. Visit the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’ Isola is the iconic representation of Tropea. For centuries, the island has been visited by pilgrims, monks, and people seeking spirituality. Climb the stairs to the sanctuary, explore the church and the gardens full of olive and fig trees. The view is stupendous in all directions – endless sea, the rugged coastline, Stromboli, sandy beaches, and Tropea itself clinging to the cliffside. It is a must to stop for shopping in via Indipendenza, this narrow street is full of cafes, restaurants, and local speciality shops. Red onions are stacked proudly out in front of every shop. Don’t miss the onion jam, local olive oils, bergamot candies, and preserves. |
