Nature, Wine, Food and History

DAY 1

Arrival at Florence Airport.
A driver will meet you outside of the baggage claim area and will transfer you from Florence airport to a 4 or 5-star accommodation in Tuscany countryside for a three night stay. 
Remainder of the day/evening at your leisure. 

DAY 2

 Visit the beautiful Tuscan Countryside.
You will visit Montepulciano, a beautiful medieval town located in the southern part of Tuscany. Here is where the famous Vino Nobile is produced, but there are also many historical attractions to visit, such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta that contains many masterpieces of the Senese school.
You will have time to explore Pienza, the “ideal city of Renaissance”, created by Pope Pius II following what he considered the Utopian City ideals. Today, Pienza is known as the Capital of Pecorino, a tasty cheese made from sheep’s milk.
Enjoy your drive along the Val d’Orcia, UNESCO World Cultural Landscapes since 2004, and be sure not to miss the opportunity to taste the delicious, locally produced wines there.

DAY 3

Your driver will escort you through the rolling tuscan hills, made of historic olive groves, vast vineyards and typical little towns, stopping for photos along the way.
You will visit the Chianti Region, stopping in several small towns, the most famous one being Greve in Chianti. Best-known as the “wine town”, as you will find many typical shops with “vino for sale” and visit the very peculiar triangular square where the market is held.
You will visit in a local vineyard and learn about the wine making process and taste several local wines, followed by a typical Mediterranean light lunch.
You will visit the medieval town of San Gimignano, a UNESCO Heritage Site, famous for its skyline of tall towers and enjoy a stroll along its streets. Do not forget to visit the Duomo with its walls entirely covered in frescos.

DAY 4

Check-out of Tuscany hotel. Your driver will transfer you from Tuscany to Perugia. Upon arrival in Perugia, check in to your 4 or 5 star hotel, for a five night stay in a double occupancy room.

DAY 5

Full day at the discovery of Perugia city centre.
Perugia is a city full of charm and history. Every ancient door, alley, square, palace and church will capture your imagination; and every museum and gallery will impress you with a sense of history, culture and art. Perugia is not only an old and suffocating showcase of the ancient, but it also has a young, vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
You will start your walking tour in Piazza Italia, From there we will first go to explore the different layers of the Rocca Paolina - the so-called ‘Underground Perugia’. Once back in the center, there will be a stop in a famous old-fashioned but very traditional cafe for an espresso or cappuccino topped with hand whipped cream.
You will visit The Rocca Paolina, or Paolina fortress, is located right in the historic center of Perugia and you can enter through a door to Porta Marzia or the escalator that connects Piazza Italia to Piazza Partigiani.
Stop at Fontana Maggiore, The top marble basin has twelve sides divided into twenty-four smooth panels of pink stone from Assisi. Each is separated by an equal number of white Carrara marble statuettes arranged on protrusions between the panels. Some of the figures represent characters from the city's history and legends, while others are symbolic.

DAY 6

Perugina Chocolate’s House, is waiting for you to live a unique chocolate experience. The route begins from the Historical Museum letting itself be enchanted by the history of Perugina, continues in the sweet stop of the tastings and arrives in the heart of the Factory, accompanied by irresistible aromas. 

DAY 7

Pleasant morning to spend on Lake Trasimeno, the largest in central Italy, a splendid body of water, surrounded by natural landscapes of great beauty, ancient villages and historic mansions. You will spend three unforgettable hours aboard a luxury speedboat with a professional skipper, through foam trails, natural landscapes of incomparable beauty, historic houses, adventurous maneuvers, moments of fun and relaxation. During the trip, we will make a stop for a short visit to Isola Maggiore or Isola Polvese.
Discover Assisi, a Franciscan place par excellence, not only in Umbria and Italy, but all over the world. Let's take a walk through its fascinating alleys, admiring the most remarkable sites of the city: the Basilica of San Francesco, the Church of Santa Chiara, the Piazza del Comune, the Cathedral of San Rufino, the Church of San Damiano.

DAY 8

Morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, you will be welcomed in one of the farmhouse of beginning of ‘800, between Perugia and Assisi. You will be guided to one of the vineyards and then between the premises of the cellar, telling you the story and illustrating all the stages of wine production, from the vineyard to the bottle. We will then make you taste the wines, accompanied by typical cutting boards selected by companies with which we collaborate.

DAY 9

Check out from Perugia hotel and transfer to Rome with a stop in Orvieto for lunch on your own in another beautiful medieval town surrounded by a nostalgic atmosphere, that will welcome you with its 3000 years of history.
Upon arrival in Rome, check in to your 4 or 5 star hotel, for a three night stay.

DAY 10

Day tour of Rome part 1.
Private 8 hour guided tour of Rome city center with a professionally licensed, English speaking guide.
Sites include: Navona Square, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, St. Peter’s Square.
Includes skip the line entrance tickets to the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel. 

DAY 11

Day tour of Rome part 2.
Private 8 hour guided tour of Rome city center with a professionally licensed, English speaking guide.
Sites to be visited include St. Peter in Chains, Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus, Caracalla's thermal baths, Aventine Hill, Capitoline Hill and Venezia square.
Includes private, guided tour and skip the line entrance tickets to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Also includes a visit to the Catacombs, tickets included.

DAY 12

Leisure day in Rome
