One of Joe Banana's English speaking drivers will meet you at your accommodation in Florence and will then chauffeur you to the Chianti Region for an unforgettable Tuscan day tour!
You will drive through the famous Chianti wine road in order to arrive in Greve in Chianti, first stop on this tour. You will visit this fabulous town which sits in the Val di Greve, named for the small, fast-flowing river that runs through it. Greve is the principal town in the Chianti wine district, which stretches south of Florence and just north of Siena. Until recently it has been a quiet, almost bucolic town because it was, and still is, well off the main roads.
After the visit in Greve you will drive through Montefioralle (right in the heart of Chianti Region). You will also drive through Badia a Passignano, another enchanting village where you will have time to stop for pictures. Your spectacular day tour will continue as you will arrive in the village of San Donato in Poggio. Here you will have time to walk around, and soon after this, you will find yourselves in the middle of the wine country.
For an additional cost you will also be able to visit a winery, where a great sommelier/guide will take you on a tour, including wine tasting of 4 different wines, and a typical Tuscan light lunch (bruschetta, cannellini beans, tuscan pecorino, salami, ham, cantucci [dry almond cookies] and Vin Santo).
After this unforgettable experience, you will drive to San Gimignano where you can stroll around and taste the best gelato in the world before driving back to your accommodation in Florence.
