One of Joe Banana's English speaking drivers will meet you at your accommodation in Naples. The day will then start as you will drive by the famous city of Naples, and the driver will share information about this historic location.
You will then drive past Mt. Vesuvius, before arriving at the ruins of Pompeii, the largest archaeological site in Europe!
Your private, licensed guide will greet you upon arrival and lead you on a two hour tour of this ancient Roman town where life came to a premature end on 24 August 79 A.D.
After this amazing archeological experience, you will drive to your next destination of the day, Sorrento. In order to reach the famous town of Sorrento you will drive along the coastal road to its furthest point where spectacular views of the entire bay of Naples and the Island of Capri are revealed as the Amalfi coast road emerges from over the cliff.
You will then stop right in the main square of Sorrento where you can have one hour or more to explore this wonderful town on your own. Sorrento, next to the Amalfi Coast, is a major shopping centre for local people as well as tourists.
After Sorrento, you will find yourselves driving down-hill directly through Positano where you will descend down the winding one-way road, passing by many picturesque houses and shops, and ultimately arriving in the heart of the town, at “Piazza dei Mulini”. This is the last point accessible by car, so the driver will park our car and you will be able to walk downtown where all the streets lead to the waterfront.
Here you will have about one hour or more to discover this beautiful village denominated “The Jewel of The Amalfi Coast”. Positano has beautiful things to see: the cathedral, ceramic shops, lemons, hand-made shoes and, of course, “Positano fashion”.
At this pount, you will drive up the hill above Positano where your table with a view has already been booked. Lunch starts with appetizers including: Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, eggplant parmigiana, tomato salad with fresh basil and many other things that you'll love if you like Italian food.
Then you will be served pasta (homemade pasta) such as: ravioli, cannelloni, gnocchi (potato dumplings) and finally mamma pasta which is a delicious dish. Save a little space for the "dolci deliziosi" (delicious desserts), all made by mamma (the owner of the restaurant). Of course after the desserts we usually recommend a shot of limoncello (very famous lemon liquor made in Italy, specifically the Amalfi coast) which works as a digestive. We suggest you indulge in the homemade wine as well, as beverages are included without limit.
After the visit in Positano your driver will take you back to your accommodation in Naples in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We reserve the right to change the order in which we visit sites.
