Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi

Code: JAMA004

This fantastic shore excursion from Amalfi Port allows for time in two of the most frequently visited locations in the area: Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.

Your day will begin as you are greeted by your private driver at the tender pier in Amalfi port. You will be able to identify him as he will be holding a sign with your name on it. You will then be escorted to your private, luxury vehicle and the shore excursion will begin!

As we drive up the Amalfi Coast, your driver will give you information about the area  and you will plan your day together. On the way to the first destination, Pompeii, you will be able to see Mt. Vesuvius in the distance, the volcano responsible for one of the most well known historical events in this region.

In Pompeii you will have the opportunity to tour one of the most important archeological sites in the world! Either a licensed guide can be arranged ahead of time (additional cost) or you can explore the site on your own. However you choose to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will be in awe as you see the remnants of this 1st century city which offer some insight into the Roman life that came to a premature stop here on 24 August AD 79.

After this, your driver will take you on a coastal drive to the famous Amalfi Coast. You will find yourselves driving down-hill directly through Positano. Descending down the winding one-way road, passing by many picturesque houses and shops, you will ultimately arrive in the heart of the town, at "Piazza dei Mulini”. This is the last point accessible by car, so we will park and walk downtown where all the streets lead to the waterfront.

Here you will have about one hour to discover this magnificent village denominated "The Jewel of The Amalfi Coast”. Positano has many unique things to see: the cathedral, ceramic shops, lemons, hand-made shoes and, of course, "Positano fashion”.

Back on the main Amalfi coast road and leaving Positano the coastal road begins and runs through the fishing villages of Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini, and continues until it finally reaches the busy square of Amalfi (Piazza del Duomo) which is situated on the seafront.

Upon arrival back to Amalfi, your driver will take you back to the port, where the excursion will end. However, time permitting, you could walk directly across the street, as the port of Amalfi is located in front of the main square of Amalfi, and spend some time exploring the area before walking back to the tender pier.

If we start our tour at 8.00/8.30am we'll be back at the port by 5.00/5.30pm.
