This tour might be the best option for those who want to get the chance to see the best sceneries of the Amalfi Coast but don't want to miss out on Sorrento.
One of Joe Banana Limos English speaking driver will be waiting for you outside the cruise ship terminal at Salerno port, holding a sign with your name on it.
The driver will stop a few times on the way (traffic dependent) to take a few pictures of the cliffs. It'll take about 1 hour to reach Sorrento, the land of the Sirens and lemons.
Once in Sorrento, you will have around one hour free time for a walk through the historical center visiting the old streets, where the alleys cross each other and create a very enjoyable grid: old buildings with an intriguing architecture, churches, limoncello (lemon liquor) factories where you can first try and then, if you want, to get your yellow digestive drink, leather shops and inlaid woodwork shops.
You will then proceed to Positano driving down the Amalfi Coast, here as well you will have the chance to take other beautiful pictures of the incredible sceneries of this enchanting land. Positano, the jewel of the Amalfi coast, is a vertical town where the houses are set on the top of each other, where the road is considered one of the most beautiful drives in the world.
Our driver will reach the furthest part of the town accessible by vehicle, from here you can walk through the alleys in the pedestrian area where all the local seamstresses hang their works out of the shops. You will pass by the art galleries, bougainvillea flower shelter and finally arrive at the waterfront where you will see typical local restaurants on this awesome beach as well as the view of the steepest "hill of houses".
Not long after leaving Positano you will arrive at nice "Trattoria" (local restaurant), La Tagliata. With over 40 years of experience preparing good quality food, this family run restaurant serves a complete meal in a divine location. Here you will enjoy an authentic italian meal, with appetizer of the day such as eggplant parmigiana, local ham, fresh mozzarella cheese, local tomatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and than on with hand-made ravioli, gnocchi Sorrento style with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, and mamas pasta (sort of manicotti created from the lady who runs the restaurant). A mix of pastries will also follow and finally a limoncello shot will help you digest and move on to your next stop: Ravello.
In order to reach Ravello, you will drive down the Amalfi Coast where you will enjoy and take in the world known breathtaking views.
You will be driving through little villages, passing by Furore fjord and creeks with colors you will never forget.
Ravello is known as the "city of music”. A wonderful late medieval village set on a cliff above Amalfi, overlooking the incredible shoreline.
This town has been an inspirational location for many artists, writers and musicians, destination of many VIPs of the 50’s and 60’s, such as Humphrey Bogart, Greta Garbo and Jacqueline Kennedy. Here, according to how much time you will have at hand, you can choose to visit Villa Cimbrone, Villa Rufolos or simply enjoy the town staying in the square, visiting the historical hotels or drinking an Italian beer at a bar.
It'll take 1 hour and 10 minutes to go back to the ship from a different road, in order to avoid any traffic jams the driver will advise on feasibility of your requests and on timing in general
