Your driver will escort you to the first village and guide you on where to purchase tickets for the ferry or train. Due to local regulations, private vehicles are not permitted to enter the villages of the Cinque Terre due to the growing number of visitors. We have a back to port policy of at least 1 hour prior to the last scheduled boarding time for the ship.

Once again, we used Joe Banana Limos for our all-day excursion to the Cinque Terre from the port of Livorno. Our driver was right there when we exited the ship and quickly whisked us up to the first of the 5 towns. He provided excellent information on how to navigate getting from town to town. The day was perfectly timed and we were back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. I highly recommend Joe Banana for excellent service and great drivers/guides. Our Cruise ship changed destination to Livorno and we didn't think we could get to Cinque Tere.... We had booked with Joe Banana tours thinking we would give it a go. The night before we had heard that all the walks were closed so our expectations were low. How surprised we were. We were collected by collected by Roberto in a van (there was 6 of us). He blew our expectations. First we went to the town of Port Venere. If we had stopped here we would have been happy but no, on we went. We were able to visit 3 of the Cinque Tere towns. He dropped us off at the first town (Manarola) and gave very good instructions as to how long we could spend in this town and then the train timetable. We were able to have lunch at the second town (Venazza) and a look around then he collected us at the top of the town. Then drove us to Corniglia for a relaxed stroll. Then from there he said we had time to go to Pisa. I can't rave enough how good Roberto was. He knew where we could and should go but gently pointed in us in the right direction. He was very knowledgable but not in your face way. If English was outstanding. At the end of the trip we had a call via Roberto from the Joe Banana's manager checking how the day went. We have had 5 tours on this trip and Roberto was the best by miles!
