Travel back in time and discover the Etruscan history just outside Rome.
You will visit Tuscania, an ancient town allegedly founded by Tusco, son of Hercules, famous for its medieval walls and towers, and for the Etruscan necropolis. Do not miss a visit to Santa Maria degli Angeli church, half-Christian and half-Etruscan, where sacred and profane blend perfectly.
You will stop at Lake Bracciano, the second largest of Lazio’s volcanic lakes. There you will have a chance to visit the “Castle on the Lake”, a medieval castle which dates back to the 10th Century, or just take a relaxing stroll along the clean shores of the lake.
You will reach Cerveteri, home to a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Etruscan Necropoli in Banditaccia, dating back to IX century B.C. and visit what used to be one of the most important commercial centres in the Etruscan time.

Our guide Marco met us at the port and although we had planned to visit Etruscan tombs elsewhere, he recommended we visit Necropolis Della Banditaccia which he felt we would enjoy more - and he was ride. Marco served as our driver and guide throughout the walk around the tombs and he really knew all about the Etruscan civilization. We then went to the Museum Nazionale Cerite where we were able to view many of the relics which were found in Etruscan tombs. Our last stop was at a wonderful restaurant for lunch. Marco was an excellent driver/guide and we really enjoyed his conversation and his sharing so much knowledge of the places we visited. We would recommend Joe Banana Limos for anyone visiting the area.
