One of Joe Banana's drivers will meet you at your accommodation in Sorrento for this day tour to remember!
The day will start with a chauffeured drive by the famous Sorrento Coast. After about 45 minutes of driving, we'll arrive at ruins of Pompeii. This famous archeological site is part of an ancient Roman city destroyed and buried by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D. You will be captivated as you see first hand the remnants of the ancient Roman life that came to a halting end in 79 A.D. You can explore the area on your own or we can arrange for a private 2 hour guided tour of the site with a professionally licensed and local guide (additional cost).
After Pompeii, we will then drive up Mt. Vesuvius, one of the most well known volcanos in Europe. We will drive up to 3000 feet, where we will park and you can then climb for about 30 minutes to arrive at the top. Once there, you can admire the crater and the panoramic views of the Bay of Naples and surrounding areas — well worth the climb!
Following this hiking adventure, we will drive to the base of the volcano where we will visit a great family winery for a light lunch, wine tasting and wine yards tour. Please note, you can easily choose to visit the winery before climbing Mt. Vesuvius if you prefer.
After this wonderful day we'll drive back to your accommodation in Sorrento, about 1 hour away.
