This is a perfect experience mixing history and food!

You will visit an old olive mill in the Sorrento area where you will discover everything about the process of making olive oil. From carefully selected raw materials, to the strict control on the entire production line, you will see how carefully oilve oil is made in this beautiful area. You will have the chance to taste more than 30 different locally produced oils served on freshly baked bread.

A professional pizza chef will teach you how to prepare a real pizza from scratch! You will prepare the dough, then add various toppings, and finally bake the pizza in the traditional wood oven. At the end of this amazing class, you will have the honor of eating your own pizza, which will be served together with drinks and a dessert.

You will stop in Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. This Roman town was buried under several feet of ash and rocks due to the dramatic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D., giving present-day visitors the chance to walk down Roman streets and snoop around millennia-old houses, temples, shops, cafes, amphitheatres, and even a brothel, all still incredibly well preserved.

What should I wear for this tour?

We suggest that you wear comfortable walking shoes as there is quite a bit of walking involved on uneven surfaces.

Is this tour accessible for people with limited walking abilities?

The itinerary can be certainly customised according to your needs, but please note that some areas may not be accessible with a stroller/wheelchair or for people with limited walking abilities.

This tour was awesomely. Limoncello factory, Family owned Olive Oil factory with 30 tastings of different oils, hands on making Mozzarella at family owned dairy, hands on making pizza at family owned restaurant and a quick two hour visit to Pompei! Joe Banana even paid us a visit while we were making pizzas! Our guide was excellent and a beautiful vehicle! What a fabulous day long tour!!!!

We are so glad we booked a day with Joe Banana. We were looking forward to Pompeii so much but knew it would be hot and crowded. Our driver took us there first, where we had a fantastic private tour tailored to our interest. She managed to keep us in the limited shade and go around the big groups. Then, the highlight of our trip was pizza making. It was at a real restaurant kitchen, but just our family made the pizzas, we all absolutely loved it. And the pizza tasted amazing! One of our favorite days of a 2 weeks trip.

This was such a fun day and one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was taken care of from start to finish. Our amazing driver Antonio picked us up right on time. He was the BEST!! Cannot recommend Antonio enough. He was incredibly professional, personable, funny, and informative. He made the crazy drive along the Amalfi coast look easy. Everyone in our group wished he could take us along the coast every day. The Pizza making was so fun! The restaurant owners guided us through how to make the best Naples style pizza and the ambiance was wonderful. You cannot beat the views from their cozy family owned restaurant. In addition, our time in Pompeii was wonderful and informative. Our guide Paulo was the BEST!! He was funny but also incredibly knowledgeable about Pompeii and we all walked away feeling as if we learned so much. Would highly recommend this tour to others traveling along the Amalfi coast. Grazie Mille Antonio and Paolo!! You are missing out if you don’t book a tour with them!
